  Dear future practicing nurses, When I first started my goal of becoming a nurse educator, I envisioned that I would need to have the nursing knowledge and a calm and patient personality to be an effective teacher.   I would hold conferences and lecture to nurses and use handouts and/or an overhead projector to teach nurses information they would need for their job.   While this is true, I have now realized that teaching is so much more.   Technology opens up so many possibilities for teaching and learning.   Because technology is such an important part of in the everyday life of a practicing nurse, it is important that I also use technology in my everyday life as a practicing nurse educator to create active and meaningful learning experiences.   There always has been and always will be challenges in nursing, but nurses providing the best care for their patients has not changed.   Technology can be a challenge, but it can also be an opportunity! ...
